...Then I remembered it was because I couldn't be stuffed reading some stories, HAHAHAH.
I'm horrible, I know ^^
I might open up some reviewing sections later on, but who knows. We'll probably have to wait until either after exams or after I graduate for it. It'll work out somehow, I guess~ I don't think I'd do too well with graphic reviewing though. Mainly because I'm not an amazing graphic artist, unlike the girls at InDesign. These old gen designers are absolutely amazing, and I'm even looking through their tutorials. They say you learn something new every day, and I sure did. I learnt more about the functions of Photoshop, which I've never really been much of a fan of since just recently. It's awesome! I'm going to go and have fun with a few more brushes - there are some brushes I want, but since I'm not too much of a fan of extravagant, flashy brushes, I wont have too many. It ends up lagging sometimes, hahah. I know - it's happened to me with GIMP. I went insane with brushes at the beginning of my designing 'career' ^^;
I've written the content for the layout, and I just need to add details such as a list of 'schools' (missionaries/camps) and the list of Aboriginals that reside in the camps. I'll probably bring out characters from the book and create some of my own.
Why did I choose to write in the way I did? I chose to write in a similar way as to how they would've written in the 20s/30s, because it would've made it more realistic. To help someone else's understanding, I wanted the site to seem as if it really were written and created in the 20s so that they understand his thought process when he was Chief Protector of Aborigines.
I'm still thinking about turning the main page into a blog. It would fill up, because I could type short entries. I've had a look at Julia Gillard's website, and taking a look at her blog, her posts aren't too long either.
Trying to imitate their style of writing in the 20s is actually incredibly hard. Maybe it's because of all the changes in language that has happened over the last few years that make it harder, because their sentence structure and word choices are very different to those on official sites now, or those we use in every day life. I think I've gone through a few hundred sheets of paper just scribbling stuff down, haha!
